Kathryn Straub joins the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce as the Executive Director. A longtime resident of Kirkland's Bridle Trails neighborhood, Kathryn brings over 16 years of local business ownership and a strong understanding of the Kirkland community.
A dedicated advocate for partner-centric thinking, Kathryn's approach has been shaped by influential past roles with Nordstrom and Marriott. A proud graduate of Washington State University with an MBA from St. Martin's University, Kathryn is excited to support and strengthen the Kirkland business community through collaborative growth and innovation.

MARKETING MANAGER
Rachel infuses vibrant energy, strategy, and creativity to her role as Marketing Manager. A proud University of Washington graduate with nearly a decade of experience in the fine jewelry industry, Rachel knows the power of storytelling, relationship-building, and creating unforgettable experiences.
At the Chamber, Rachel leads marketing, sponsorships, and event coordination with a hands-on, community-first approach. She manages key monthly events, including Engage Kirkland, Networking Lunches, and Ribbon Cuttings, and oversees the Chamber's digital presence, from social media to email marketing. Whether she's helping a new member feel at home or crafting an engaging campaign, Rachel brings intentionality, a keen eye for detail, and a fresh perspective to everything she does.

TECHNOLOGY & DESIGN SPECIALIST
David stands as a beacon of entrepreneurial spirit and technological know-how at the Kirkland Chamber. A member for over a decade with Verne & Wells, he's cultivated a haven for like-minded geeks, combining social engagement with intellectual pursuits. His role as the co-founder and board member of Connective Strength showcases his dedication to raising awareness for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, melding his passion for disability advocacy with his professional acumen.
A publishing expert, David has brought to life an impressive array of books, showcasing his knack for nurturing authors' visions from concept to creation.
Yet, at the heart of his busy life, David finds joy in the simple pleasures of home. He cherishes moments spent with his husband, son, and their delightful menagerie of animals, grounding his high-flying professional life with warmth and love. David's life reflects a harmonious blend of passion, purpose, and personal fulfillment.

Are You Interested in a Board Position?
Our Key Board responsibilities include policy formulation, program and budget approval, hiring and managing the Executive Director, and maintaining community business leader relations. They adhere to and amend the Chamber's Bylaws as needed.
Individual Directors must attend meetings, engage in decision-making, uphold the Chamber's interests, and consult with members for informed actions. They offer counsel to Chamber officers and staff, and fulfill duties as requested by the President.
