The Kirkland Chamber of Commerce presented the first of its 2019 Chamber 201 Education Series seminar for its membership, “Viridian Uncovers Tax Secrets to Build Your Business.”
This well-attended seminar took place at the Kirkland Library on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019, and prepared attendees and their businesses for 2019. Viridian presented recent tax law changes and deductions that will help business anticipate changes so they can plan ahead.
Viridian’s primary focus is on Retirement, Investments, Tax Efficiency and Financial Planning. However, its financial advisors are experts on timely issues such as market volatility, text issues right now, retirement, elder planning and how to work with a financial advisor.
For this seminar, its presenters, Matt Boelter and Joe Erickson, covered commonly missed deductions. They opened their presentation by showing a comparison between 2017 and 2018-2025 tax brackets for filing single and for filing jointly/married.
Standard Deductions in 2017 were $6,500 for individual, $13,000 for married. In 2018 it is now $12,000 for individuals and $24,000 for married couples. There are many changes to itemized deductions in 2018, including Home Interest, State and Local Taxes, and Investment Interest. Many deductions have gone, but rather than itemize them here, why not review Viridian’s presentation, “Tax Changes 2018-11-13-2018” here in PDF and see for yourself!
