Kirkland Business Districts

Kirkland is seeing a huge growth in new businesses, particularly new technologies, and many enterprise businesses are moving to Kirkland. We are in the boom of new construction of offices, residences and stores in the Totem Lake business district, the Downtown Kirkland district and the Houghton business district.

DOWNTOWN KIRKLAND

DOWNTOWN KIRKLAND

Kirkland nestles along the east shoreline of Lake Washington. To the east the Cascade Mountains tower to the sky. On a clear day the magnificent Mount Rainier dominates the southern skyline and to our west is the city of Seattle.

Kirkland boasts stunning beaches, award-winning hotels, first class restaurants, and boutique shopping. During the summer one can sit in any of the patio bars and sip your favorite premier Washington wine while people-watching as they stroll through the streets.

Kirkland has more waterfront parks and beaches than anywhere else in the Puget Sound region. Which is why it is one of the top places (not just in Washington State but nationally) to live, work and play.

MARKET

The Market neighborhood nestles along Lake Washington between Juanita and Moss Bay. Some of Kirkland’s most affluent homes are ‘West of Market.’ It is a major road artery along Lake Washington and links Bellevue to Kenmore. Several upscale businesses have made their home along Market including real estate, interior design, beauty salons, health practices and restaurants, as well as the famous Kirkland Art Center.

MOSS BAY
Moss Bay is immediately south of Market and includes much of the Downtown Kirkland area south of Central way. Along the Lake are desirable apartments and homes and stunning condos. Several beaches are dotted along Lake Washington Boulevard. Moss Bay has perhaps the most spectacular view of the Seattle skyline directly across the lake.

These two business districts are situated along the shores of Lake Washington which is dotted with several public beaches. Carillon Point includes the GoDaddy offices and the famous Woodmark Hotel, which boasts a fabulous spa and yacht club. The sidewalks along Lake Washington are a favorite of runners and walkers alike.

TOTEM LAKE

TOTEM LAKE

You may think that the Totem Lake business district is one big construction site. Businesses east of the I-5 are certainly in for a few more months of construction.

The new construction will boast more than one million square feet including more than 550,000 square feet of retail, 230,000 square feet of Class A office space, a 650 seat movie theater, and 395 new residential units.

Just to the east of the new construction is the EvergreenHealth Medical Center. Evergreen is one of the Chamber’s major sponsors. It also employs more individuals in Kirkland, than any other corporate entity.

But that’s not all……
