KIRKLAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCEMENT

December 22, 2020 – 5:26 PM PST
Samantha St. John, CEO

Kirkland Business Community,

The help we have been asking for has finally arrived. Although we are still fighting for a bit more help, there are many good things coming from this new package just passed by Congress. Here are the key points for businesses:

  • PPP has been renewed, and is now no longer subject to any taxation. You read that right, there are no taxes on any PPP dollars received.
  • Restaurants will be able to receive a larger dollar amount of PPP to compensate for the enormous losses sustained by that industry.
  • Employee retention tax credits have been expanded.
  • Unemployment assistance has been extended in the number of weeks allowed, with a renewed supplement of $300/week.

Please READ THE GUIDE from the US Chamber to help answer your questions on this new package. We will continue to update you as we receive new information. Bookmark this page and return here regularly for the latest updates.

Thank you for your trust in us to be your advocate. We will continue to be your voice to the local, state, and federal government on the needs of the Kirkland business community.
