What is an Ambassador

by Ryan James

The primary mission of The Kirkland Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassadors program is the retention of existing Kirkland Chamber Members, enlistment of new members, and to serve as goodwill representatives of the chamber at a variety of functions.

This energetic group helps maintain contact with other Chamber members while promoting the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce and its purpose.

Ambassadors attend Chamber functions and serve as greeters at Chamber events such as monthly Business After Hours, Luncheons, ribbon cuttings and grand openings, and other Chamber events.  Ambassadors are the first contact that new members have upon joining The Kirkland Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber Ambassador

I have over 25 years in successful sales leadership including startup and vertical market expansions, as well as launching and growing my own technical entities. I have leveraged my expertise in psychology and business into a successful consultancy.  I assist with marketing, business planning, client development, sales training, job search, career transition, executive search, and other HR initiatives.  The wisdom I have garnered through strategic alliances and people development allows me to quickly assess client needs and customize a plan to target and achieve their goals.   My client’s say, “Wow, you really GET me!” OR “You make me sound really good!”  In a nutshell, it is easier for me to market and sell you, or your company -than it is for you to sell yourself.

Expert Networking Tip

As a mentor, moderator, presenter, and speaker for various local networking organizations, libraries, and chambers of commerce; my best advice would be to actually CONNECT to those people you meet in a personal way.  The goal when you meet is NOT to get a lead, but to have them remember you.  Then add them to your LinkedIn connections with a reminder about your conversation.  You will build a meaningful client base and referral network as you go. It is not who YOU know, but who your CONNECTIONS know, that will guarantee your success.
