Over 60,000 students from around the Puget Sound area have a chance now to visit the Pacific Science Center because of Google.  The Center is hosting six field trip days where 75% of the students attending are on a reduced or free lunch program.

For many students these field trips are the first time many of them have the opportunity to visit the Pacific Science Center because of financial barriers.

Darcy Nothnagle, head of external affairs for the NW at Google says, “Financial ability to have these kinds of experiences should not be a barrier.  We want to make sure that every student in the Puget Sound who would like to have this experience, is able to have it.”

She continues, ““We’re proud to work with Pacific Science Center to make sure students in underserved communities have opportunities to see how exciting science can be.”

Well, Darcy, we are proud to have you as a Chamber member and proud of the commitment you make every day to our communities.
